Working Principle: 220V/380V AC power is rectified and converted into DC power by an internal charging module, which then charges the battery directly. (Since AC power is converted into DC power, this device is referred to as a DC charging pile.)
The higher the power output of a DC fast charging station, the faster the charging speed; furthermore, with advancements in technology, the power capacity of DC charging piles is steadily increasing.
The specific process is as follows:
- Power Input: Connects to the AC power grid to draw electrical energy.
- Rectification and Conversion: Converts AC power into DC power using devices such as rectifiers (charging modules).
- Charging Control: The control system within the charging pile communicates with the electric vehicle’s Battery Management System (BMS) to obtain battery status information—such as voltage, current, and temperature—thereby regulating the output DC parameters to ensure safe and efficient charging.
- Power Output: Delivers the converted DC power to the electric vehicle’s battery via the charging interface.
- Safety Configuration: To ensure the safety and stability of the charging process, various components are integrated to facilitate the completion of the entire charging cycle.
